OUR FACILITIES
Incorporated in 1978, the Pelham facility has evolved from a regional fastener manufacturer into what is now the nation's largest domestic manufacturer and supplier of threaded rod and bar products serving North America. We also produce a wide range of cold-drawn and premium heat-treated threaded rods and bars. Known as Vulcan Steel Products to many customers, our facility uses special-bar-quality (SBQ) products as a raw material, creating strategic pull-through demand.
At Pelham, we’re distinguished by our three specialized divisions: Threaded Rod, Heat Treating, and Cold Finished.
As the nation’s largest domestic manufacturer and supplier of threaded products, customers have come to trust our “right the first time” quality and our readily available inventory. Vulcan built its roots on providing low carbon threaded rod to the market but now provides a much wider range of threaded products.
Our products range in diameter from ¼” to 4” in a variety of thread pitches and finishes, including national coarse, national fine, and acme thread. Protective coatings help ensure the long-term integrity of the rods, and are available in plain (uncoated), zinc, yellow zinc, and hot dip galvanized finishes. Threaded products are also available in stainless steel.
Our heat-treating division is a state-of-the-art facility focusing on induction heating for quench and tempered bars. Starting with one line in 1997, we now operate five lines with a size range of 3/8” to 4 5/8″. Today we can process bars up to 60′ in length. This division has the capability to quench and temper tubes as well as rebar.
Heat treatments include Quench and Temper, Stress Relieving, Thru Hardening, and Surface Hardening. We can also furnish cold drawn or cold finished quench and tempered bars. Our standard lengths are 24′ but please note we can precision cut your bar to exact lengths from 4″ to 61′.
Our Cold Finished division sets the standard for tight tolerance, exceptional quality, and on-time delivery. We’re know for our commitment to quality and customer service, and for having one of the largest size ranges under one roof. Our Cold Finished operation offers Industrial Quality/Commercial Quality Rounds and shapes as well as rounds produced to meet the ASTM A722 specification.

For example, CLP Systems is a customer that specializes in using engineered threaded rod systems to secure the roof all the way through the structure down to the foundation.

Whether traditional or automated, the fundamental advantage of a sprinkler system is being over the fire, which means being secured to the ceiling. Zinc plated threaded studs are a strong, corrosion-resistant choice to ensure sprinklers are low maintenance and quick to hang.
Solar panel arrays, hydroelectric plants, and wind turbines create clean renewable sources of energy for our nation’s power grid. Each of these require strong and reliable threaded anchors and fasteners for smooth operation. Our large diameter heat treated threaded bar serve as powerful anchors and our plated products play a big part in ensuring these energy sources stay productive and dependable regardless of what mother nature throws at it.

Today, so much of our world is driven by telecommunications that it would be difficult to envision operating in any market without it. Our products can be found in the structural tower bases and hanging the organizing cable trays, such as yellow zinc RoHos compliant threaded rod.
The car industry represents a huge portion of global trade when considering all the different parts required and the vast number of suppliers needed to make those components. Cold drawn products from our Pelham facility can be used in a variety of automotive applications like steering shafts, tie rods, suspension components, and exhaust hangars.
